Davey IJzermans

I'm Davey IJzermans. I make websites and develop web applications.

Since I was little, I’ve loved fiddling with computers and everything that had to do with it. I have gained extensive knowledge of (X)HTML, CSS, Javascript/jQuery and PHP and want to learn to develop great desktop apps in other languages in the future, if desktop apps still exists then, of course. I have a basic knowledge of Java, C and Ruby, which I want to develop further when I finish high school.

Please check out my work by clicking on “Portfolio” in the navigation bar. If you’d like to contact me personally, you can send me an e-mail on the contact page.

Thank you for visiting my website!

Davey IJzermans

I was born on the 6th of February 1994 in the south of Holland, municipality Noord-Brabant. I learnt to read and write at an early age, and was also showing an interest in music: I used to try to make music with everything.

When I turned six, my parents asked me if I wanted to buy a real drumkit, instead of a little childern’s drumkit, which I got at the same day of my 6th birthday from my grandparents. This is when my great love of all kinds of music started.

I’ve followed lessons for 10 years, but now I don’t anymore for personal reasons. I am, though, busy with music for my own entertainment and for others. I’m in a band/orchestra, where all of my musical and social needs are fulfilled. I also play keyboard/piano and bass guitar, both of which I’ve taught myself.

I’ve also developed a great love for something a bit younger than the art of music, computers. I’ve always been fascinated by them. I’ve seen the inside of many, completed countless Windows installations (though that’s not something to be that proud of) and I’ve been busy with the Internet only since around 2002, because we got an internet connection then.

Since 2004-2005 I’ve started to develop skills in web designing and -developing, and with that comes, unfortunately, bad FrontPage sites with countless links, JavaScripts from JavaScriptKit.com and background midi files.

My design and coding ambitions have however become a lot more serious. I’ve made some websites for people and associations (sometimes for money), and I currently wish to make it my occupation. Things can of course change though.

Since 2007 I’ve been a happy Macintosh user. Also a proud owner of one of the first iPhone 3G’s available in the Netherlands. I’ve been using iPhones for 2 years, but have now switched to Android.

I’m currently doing HAVO (which means Senior General Secondary Education; this would be high school-level, but not university-oriented) at Roncalli in Bergen op Zoom. After this, I definitely want to go in the IT-business, I just am not sure about the direction. I currently tell everyone that I want to be a web developer, but this can of course change into other functions, like system administrator. I guess I still have to find my place in this world.

About this website

I made this website particularly for showing who I am, what I do and want to do. I also sometime make blog posts, but not on a regular basis. I don’t have the time, creativity and and skill to come up with regular posts, so I write whenever I want. To check out my blog and work, or if you want to contact me, check out the footer area and if youd like to personally contact me, fill out the form on the contact page.

If you have any comments, questions, suggestions, interest in a website or webapplication, pat-on-the-backs, or something else entirely – though not spam, please – you are welcome to e-mail me by using the following form. You will usually get an e-mail back within a day or two, but please be patient if I’m not able to.

I’ll help with questions about virtually anything if you need me to, so ask away. Be sure to do your research though, before you contact me with a question which can easily be found via Google or a forum. I’m also just a human and if I don’t have an answer inside my noggin I will also consult these sources.

Also, I’m no good for chemistry questions. Or calculating Pi. Or making one.
